Are you ready?
For the Course Data Programme Jisc provided an Excel copy of the Course Information Maturity Model, designed to encourage institutions to think in detail about whether they have sufficient knowledge about their data and processes to start implementing XCRI-CAP. A less detailed readiness assessment is contained in the tables below.
These tables assign a score for each aspect of your current course information systems. For each attribute the most desirable value for XCRI readiness would be the rightmost value. The first three attributes are generally fixed and could not be adjusted to aid XCRI implementation; other attributes are under the control of the organisation, though not necessarily under the control of the course advertising information managers.
The following spreadsheet shows a summary of these attributes:
A textual description of these values is available in the following spreadsheet:
Minimal requirements for XCRI-CAP
While there are areas that can be increased to make up for deficiencies in some of these areas (for example lack of technical capability can be rectified with enough budget to buy in that resource) the diagram below gives suggested minimum required attributes for successfully implementing XCRI-CAP.
